I’ve been working on illustrations for an in flight warning manual for AirTran, thanks to Peter Skwiot Smith for contacting me. Anyways there have been a lot of interesting deconstructions and juxtopositions during the process, her is one of them.

I just through this sketch together to warm up for inking the rebirth of the modern musical illo. That phrase has been stuck in my head lately. hmmm

The illustration editor suggested taking the assignment literally, I tried to do this without actually making realistic vaginas spewing modern musicals, random geometric shapes can disguise everything, even labia. I’ve been enjoying the use of imperfect pattern and repetition, this illo was a repetition boner.

I was originally planning to take out the paper texture in photoshop, but I ended up liking how it added character to the otherwise flat coloring. werd
